This story comes to us from Patricia, aka Queen Bold Frívola Pea, of the Bold IJssel Hats (Zuid-Holland, Netherlands). Patricia shared that this past January, she had plans to visit her cousin in Florida. She immediately used the RHS website to contact a Red Hat chapter closest to her cousin's address. Queen Bold Frivola Pea quickly connected with Queen Jan of the Carefree Ladies. In true Red Hatter spirit, Queen Jan managed to contact the surrounding chapters and organized a wonderful lunch to greet their International Sister. Queen Jan also informed the press of the visit and a photographer from the Miami Herald was present to document the whole affair! The interview and pictures were published in the Miami Herald. If that were not magnificent enough, Queen Jan surprised her Dutch Sister with a beautifully decorated welcome cake complete with Patricia's Red Hat name on it!
Queen Bold Frivola Pea stated, "I really enjoyed the lunch and the ladies present who took the time to come and welcome me."
A few months later, Patricia made her way to Toronto, Canada for a niece's wedding. Once again, she used her biggest RHS website resource, the Contact Chapter feature to contact a few local chapters in the area. She was delighted to hear back from two Queens: Queen Patsy of the Marvelous Madams and Queen Mum Nadia of The Crimson Royals. Patricia was delighted to be invited by the two Queens for tea at the Windsor Arms Hotel in Toronto on Victoria Day. "We had a lovely time and I was glad to be there amongst friends," remarked Patricia.
"How wonderful is it to know you have friends all over the world! Thanks to the Red Hat Society I made new friends in the US and in Canada," shared Queen Bold Frivola Pea.
